PORPHYRIANS
|
|
| Historical: Species attacked by these savage vampirical creatures are morphed into their same genetic code. The creatures exist by feeding their life-force with the elixir of others. Victims are either destroyed, or given prolonged mortality by juicings administered by a Porphyrians fangs. The infection occurs when the fangs of a Porphyrian pierce the lower back at the spinal cord of a victim. The infection begins in the victim's spinal fluids. Without blood and secretions from the spinal canals of their prey, the Porphyrians become weak, and appear haggard. A fresh juicing can revitalize them to a youthful appearance. They are able to telepathically enter the minds of their victims, and sometimes appear as a male incubus, or female succubus, to seduce their prey. Porphyrians can only be killed by beheading. Disembodiment is also a means of slaughter. Legend: Creighton was the Master of this vampirical race. Creighton roamed Itasca in a coat made of the flesh of his victims he devoured, rather than turned Porphyrian. Religious convicts linked their own lives on Itasca to that of lost souls in purgatory. Creighton and the Porphyrians were believed to be the physical embodiments of Ahga Khia. Creighton was beheaded by Mystere. In death, he left behind the species he had fathered. Three hives of Porphyrians exist on their native home world of Itasca. The Villikonians, Vismalites, and Silasfians. |
